I am an accredited and experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor. I am a registered member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC) and UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I adhere to these accociations’ professional codes of ethics and work within their professional guidelines.

I originally trained at WPF therapy, London, a leading institution for academic and clinical training in psychotherapy in the UK. I hold an MA (Psych) in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice from Roehampton University and I have further training in Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT), having recently completed the initial stage of the professional training programme at the Anna Freud Centre.

I worked for a number of years within the NHS City and Hackney Specialist Psychotherapy Service, where I worked with individuals with a primary diagnosis of Personality Disorder and a variety of co-existing difficulties. I have been running my own private practice for over 10 years now.

All of this combined enables me to work with clinical expertise whilst being aware of current developments within the professional field.

Many people find it helpful to talk to an objective, professionally trained person outside of their family or circle of friends. Choosing the right therapist is important and involves finding someone you feel you can trust and work with. This is because many outcome studies have shown that the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist is an important factor in successful therapeutic treatment. It is also important that the therapist has undertaken accredited training and is appropriately registered with a professional organization, such as the BACP, BPC, UKCP.

Appointments and Fees

Before starting therapy, I offer an initial 50 minute consultation. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your reasons for considering therapy, your situation, and whether weekly psychodynamic therapy sessions could be helpful to you.

The fee for initial consultations is £70. This fee is non-refundable and payable in advance in order to secure the booking.

If we decide to work together following the initial consultation, I will offer you a regular 50 minute appointment which will take place on the same day and at the same time each week, on either a short term or an open ended basis. The standard fee for ongoing weekly sessions is £70.

Individual circumstances differ and, where possible, I aim to make therapy accessible. If affordability is a concern, please let me know and we can discuss the current availability of low-cost sessions. As a guide, low-cost fees are normally set around £50 per session.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me. Or you can complete and submit the form on the contact page. Any contact will be completely confidential.
